TONIGHT! 7-9 pm. Athens artist Laura Foster’s gorgeous drawings on vellum will be showing at Trace Gallery in the Chase Park Warehouse. This will, in fact, be the last show Trace will host. Come see some great work, get some snacks, and enjoy this bright and versatile space while it lasts!
Laura originally trained as an architect, but later pursued a Master of Fine Arts at UGA’s renowned ceramics program. She works in both ceramic sculpture and drawings, creating abstracted forms reminiscent of what you’d see under a microscope with a delicacy and skill that reveals her mastery of her media. This current series of drawings showing at Trace this month are done on a translucent vellum paper (bought here no less) with graphite, charcoal, and other drawing media. It promises to be a fantastic show, and a great night out–Trace openings are always well fed and attended.
